Key Issues
1. INFRASTRUCTURE
District 8 is growing rapidly, and we're an asset to the Calcasieu Parish economy. But as has been painfully evident over the last few years, our infrastructure is way behind our population needs. (And everyone who has recently driven through the construction zones in and around District 8 can feel it!)
As your CPPJ representative, I hope to look at the long term – from roads to drainage. Let's not just "catch up." Let's get ahead. Let's build for where we're going, not where we already are.​​​​​​​
2. COMMUNICATION
Everyone has had frustrating experiences with poor communication – whether your service appointment is delayed or you were unaware of a major interruption to your daily commute. In my experience, many people are unaware of what the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury does (or can do) for them! The average person may not even know when CPPJ meetings will occur, much less what's on the agenda. As your police jury representative, I will prioritize communication. I want District 8 to have a voice...and not just mine.
3. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Are you aware of where your local taxes go? Many people aren't. But as your District 8 representative, I will treat your tax dollars as if they were my own. Our parish government should be efficient and effective. And I'll do my best to make sure that happens with every vote I cast.
